Astral Temples, Strongholds, and Way-Stations

Many practitioners from a wide range of systems and traditions speak of using permanent or semi-permanent structures on the astral plane to do rituals or perform other tasks. Often these are called astral temples, though many are not strictly temples, but it is the most prevalent term. Some of these pieces of astral architecture have anchoring points in the physical world, but many are only moored in the astral itself. This workshop will explore the uses of these structures for individual and collective work. I will also give recommendations on how to design and construct astral temples, strongholds, and way-stations. There will also be suggestions on when, why, and how to use them. Lastly, I’ll cover how to take them down when their utility has passed.

Many cultures and spiritual traditions recognize that there are spirits who dwell in the households that can both help and harm the people who live there, such as Brownies, Domovoy, and Tomte. They may also be hearth gods that bless the home, like Brigid, Hestia, and Frigga. Many Asian cultures also worship a “kitchen god”. While household spirits may not have a fiery aspect, many hearth-based gods/spirits are connected to fire. Within North Asian shamanic traditions, every family has a household fire spirit, which can bless and protect the household family.In this class, we will explore the different household and hearth spirits/gods. For those who are not tied to specific cultural deities & spirits, we will also explore the generic household fire spirit, which anyone can work with even if they are not North Asian, as well as how to employ a fire ceremony to strengthen your own household.

The Politics of Angels

An overview of angels as they've appeared in sacred texts; their actions, purpose and motivations. Then I would use material from the 72 book and expand upon it to paint a picture of how angels view Earthly politics, our role in leadership as a sacred act, and how to work with those angels to accomplish political acts or to influence leaders. The main thesis of the presentation will be that angels come down on the side of benevolence, honesty, justice, and peace, and are opposed to cruelty, dishonesty, oppression, tyranny, and war. I would like to conclude the presentation with a group ritual for protection from evil and greater national harmony.

Of course, differences of belief and culture will express as differences in how divination, prophecy, and oracular vision are used and viewed, but there are connecting threads that relate to the nature of these practices. This class will explore the spectrum of what we call divination, prophecy, and oracular vision.

You’ve probably heard of the 12 animals of the eastern zodiac wheel. In this class, we will cover not only what the animals are and how they relate to each other, we will also explore how the five elements can influence a person’s life as well as their relationships in romance, business, and even friendships. We will also cover karmic numerology (mewas), and how the nine karmic relations between lifetimes influence your astrological reading. We will also explore how each person’s trigrams/parkhas rotate throughout the year and how its astrological system can be taken advantage of to improve one’s day-to-day life. This course will be a combination of the two main astrological systems applied in East Asia: the Chinese system and its sphere of influence (Korea, Manchuria, Vietnam, Japan, and parts of southeast Asia), and the Tibetan system and its sphere of influence (Mongolia, Central Asia, Turkic & Tungusic Siberia).

A hoodoo poppet or doll - a human likeness or energy put into an inanimate object. The doll or poppet is intended to take on the energy of the intended human with it's features, characteristics and energy is required for deeper conjure work. The doll is provided with energy, life and herbs and roots and bible verses. The doll (even though it is meant to invoke a human or animal quality doesn’t necessarily have to be in a human shape. It can be in any shape (circle, triangle, body outline, cat, dog, fish, vegetable or fruit). Hoodoo or conjure techniques are used to make the doll real.
