Beyond the Charts: The Astrology and Astronomy of the Fixed Stars

To take your practice deeper, consider connecting to the Fixed Stars. These are prominent stars that play important roles in astrology and show us some of the secrets of star formation and evolution as well. As a part of this workshop, you will get to experience making and charging your own take-home talisman derived from planetary magic procedures from ancient, historical grimmores. Capturing star energies in talismanic workings can help bring the spiritual energy of the stars with us to support our goals. Supplies will be provided. Understanding their science can add layers to the insights of astrology. The fixed stars stood out to astrologers in the sky. Usually that is because they were the prominent stars or they were unusual in some way. The science of these stars tells us new stories that enrich the magic and energy of these stars.

Do you feel drawn to the ancient Greek deities and would like to bring them into your everyday life?The ancient Greeks helped shape contemporary society through their dedication to philosophy, religion, art, and science along with democracy and the right of freedom of speech. Much within ancient Greek culture was noble, but it was a product of its time.Ancient Greek religion was simple in practice and needs to be understood within its context. There was no one religion that was practiced by all Greeks, but rather there were variations in different regions and over time. The contemporary practice of Greek religion should be a reconstruction of what Greek religion plausibly would have been had it survived.

Many traditions make use of rituals and the methods of the sacred sciences to gain guidance, to extrapolate the future, and to understand the deeper forces at work in creating what will be. Of course, differences of belief and culture will express as differences in how divination, prophecy, and oracular vision are used and viewed, but there are connecting threads that relate to the nature of these practices. Divination, prophecy, and oracular vision have qualitative and quantitative similarities and differences. This class will explore the spectrum of what we call divination, prophecy, and oracular vision.

You’ve probably heard of the 12 animals of the eastern zodiac wheel. In this class, we will cover not only what the animals are and how they relate to each other, we will also explore how the five elements can influence a person’s life as well as their relationships in romance, business, and even friendships. We will also cover karmic numerology (mewas), and how the nine karmic relations between lifetimes influence your astrological reading. We will also explore how each person’s trigrams/parkhas rotate throughout the year and how its astrological system can be taken advantage of to improve one’s day-to-day life. This course will be a combination of the two main astrological systems applied in East Asia: the Chinese system and its sphere of influence (Korea, Manchuria, Vietnam, Japan, and parts of southeast Asia), and the Tibetan system and its sphere of influence (Mongolia, Central Asia, Turkic & Tungusic Siberia).

A hoodoo poppet or doll - a human likeness or energy put into an inanimate object. The doll or poppet is intended to take on the energy of the intended human with it's features, characteristics and energy is required for deeper conjure work. The doll is provided with energy, life and herbs and roots and bible verses. The doll (even though it is meant to invoke a human or animal quality doesn’t necessarily have to be in a human shape. It can be in any shape (circle, triangle, body outline, cat, dog, fish, vegetable or fruit). Hoodoo or conjure techniques are used to make the doll real.
