About me
The Body Stays: A Death Doula's Guide to Home Funerals For most of human history, we tended our own dead — washed them, kept vigil, buried them from the house they lived in. In this session, an INELDA-trained death doula walks through what a home funeral actually is, what the law really allows a family to do, and how to hold sacred space for a body without handing your dead to strangers. You'll leave knowing what's possible, what's legal, and what's yours to reclaim. Silent is a Pagan priest, spiritual director, and INELDA-trained end-of-life doula based in Seattle. A practicing Witch since the late 1970s, he is a priest of Eris with deep devotional ties to The Morrigan, Hekate, and Inanna. His work lives at the threshold. He companions the dying and the grieving, leads monthly death salons and public grief rituals in Seattle, and has developed a modern Sumerian grief framework grounded in kispum and Continuing Bonds theory. He is one of the few openly Pagan voices invited into rooms that rarely hear us, including the Parliament of the World's Religions (2021, 2023) and the World Economic Forum in Davos. At Mystic South, Silent is offering Shrine Time — 20-minute sessions as a priest of Eris. He currently accepts directees for one-on-one spiritual direction and provides death doula services to individuals and their circle of care. Eris gives no titles, and he claims none. Come sit with him anyway. www.tokeepsilent.me
