About me
Debora Greer was born and raised in a family of Makumbeiros, an Afro- Brazilian spiritual tradition with strong Indigenous Brazilian Influences, and in some cases, also influenced by European witchcraft. She had the privilege of being initiated by her Godmother, Vovó Joaquina das Almas and given the spiritual responsibility and title of Cambone / Ekedi. After moving to the United States, Debora, alongside the Spirit Pombagira Gypsy of the Road started the Moon Garden: a virtual place of spiritual studies, oracle readings and community rituals that strives to uphold the values of the Makumba she inherited while making energetic self care accessible to all. You can purchase her self published book "Storms, Spirits and Radical Independence: Herbal Preparations with the Buffalo Woman" through her website, and her new work "In the Crossroads of my Godmother's Garden: the wisdom and magic of Brazilian Makumba" is soon to be published by Llewellyn Books.Debora is also a herbalist, cat mom and snake plant lover.
