About me
I'm so happy to share with you two seemingly separate ideas which have been so defining to me. Here is my bio. It's hard to talk about myself, but here you have it.
I started studying martial arts and Buddhism at a very young age and have been studying 50 years. There was no yoga at the time. I knew it existed but couldn’t find books or teachers. So I pursued martial arts as a form of mind/body spirituality.
After years of training, I began studying Shaolin Goju and Toist Yoga directly with the Grandmaster, Ted Parker. A 10 year mentorship led to a rank of 7th degree Master. I'm really quite squishy, but they gave me the ranks for some reason.
I also studied with Zhang Xue Xin, one of the Four Tigers of Chen Village and attained rank of sifu in Chen style Taiji and this was the style I taught for 30 years. Master Xhang led workshops in my area for many years and taught weekly classes at Golden Gate Park.
In 2001, I graduated with 4 degrees from FSU. One in Religion, focusing on what was available in the university libraries on Tantra. And the other three in Counseling Psychology. I was one of the pioneers in Mindfulness research in the late 90’s and produced 2 publications which I was the primary author.
After graduation, I immediately began studying Vajrayana Buddhist practices with Ontul Rinpoche during a 25 year period before he attained Parinirvana. I walked out of academic study and into practice! I completed the Nongdro preliminaries and then received instructions in the Dzogchen cycle, Chod, and very rare Completion stage female practices.
I developed lyme in 2010 and had an experience of near death. I wasn't completely dead; only mostly. I visited the underworlds accompanied by the Vajravarahi triple om mantra Rinpoche had given me. And, I studied herbology with Rosemary Gladstar, completed the 3 year home study program, and brought myself back to life. I came back with a gift of astral sight and travel, the ability to work on subconscious and unconscious layers in my practice as a psychotherapist, and I began studying magic with my husband, Erich Brown. He will be presenting 2 talks: Wand Making and LBRP.
The style of magic we practice come from my husband's modifications of rituals from the ESSG, Egregore Stella Sancta Gnostica, and the writings of Frater Barrabas. I’m the Magestrix of the Temple of Limitless Light, which is almost 10 years old. Frater also gave me the 2nd degree Alexandrian initiation. And I’m first degree OTO with Alombrados in NOLA.
Currently I am studying with Lama Glenn Mullin, also in the Vajrayana lineage, focusing on the esoteric mysteries of tummo and the Six Yogas of Naropa. This consists of the Tibetan practices similar to kundalini, sexual energy techniques, chakra work, dream yoga, powa and bardo methods for transitioning death, and a what is called in the magic tradition God Head Assumption of both peaceful and wrathful deity forms.
I always do things a little extra,.
At least that's what people tell me.
May it be of Benefit.
